Read before you go to Tomsk Marathon

The Course

YARCHE Tomsk Marathon course consists of two 21.1 km loops, starts in the city center and goes along the historical part of the city past all its landmarks and main tourists attractions.

You can register your children for AIMS Kids' Race until midnight of June 11, 2020.

Step 1 Log in to your personal account or register at www.tomskmarathon.ru if this is your first Tomsk Marathon.

Step 2 Select your race and distance.

Step 3 Pay your registration fee online.

Please make sure that you provide your name and date of birth as given in your ID you are going to produce at the EXPO to receive your Runner's Kit and Bib Number.  Please check for registration confirmation e-mail after payment of your registration fee.

Registration fee is not refundable.  However, you can reassign your registration to another participant in your personal account.

 

Register your children

You can register your children for AIMS Kids' Race until midnight of June 11, 2020.

Kids younger than 12 must be registered in their parent's personal account or in a personal account of their legal guardian.

Step 1 Log in to your personal account or register at www.tomskmarathon.ru if this is your first Tomsk Marathon.

Step 2 Enter your kid's details into KIDS section if this is your kid's first race in Tomsk Marathon.

Step 3 Select "Kids' Race" from the menu and tick one or all kids participating.  Make sure to click Save button.

Step 3 Pay your registration fee online.

  

Competitive races admission age shall be as follows:

- 18 and older for 42.2 km race (full marathon and relay marathon)

- 16 and older for 21.1 km race (half marathon and relay half marathon)

 Non-competitive races admission age shall be as follows:

- 12 year and older for 5 km race

- kids younger than 12 for 1 km race

Trainees of the youth sports schools or other sports facilities who are younger than 12 years old can participate in the non-competitive 5 km race subject to MANDATORY medical clearance from a doctor of their sports school (facility) or the Sports Medical Dispensary.

The age of participants shall be determined as at the date of the Marathon – June 13, 2020.

All participants of the competitive races (42.195 km and 21.1 km, including relay) must provide an original copy of a standard medical certificate. Participants of non-competitive 1 km and 5 km races shall be admitted without medical certificates, except for trainees of the youth sports schools or other sports facilities as stated above.

Medical Certificate

 It is important that your medical certificate:

1) has a stamp and a seal of the healthcare institution it was issued by and a personal seal of your physician,

2) indicates your name and date of birth,

3) states that you are admitted to participation in RUNNING (track-and-field, trail running, sky-running) competition and indicate the allowed distance that shall not be less than that provided in the start protocol (21.1 km or 42.2 km).

Your medical certificate is valid for six months. (That is, make sure your certificate is issued after December 13, 2019).

Medical certificates will be collected on issue of participants' bib numbers and will not be returned after the race.  A copy of participant's medical certificate can only be accepted if the original is produced to and verified by the organizing committee.

Pick up your Runner's Kit

 Where? 

Tomsk Marathon EXPO will be located in the city center at Novosobornaya Square.

 When?

 June 11 – 11:00 am till 9:00 pm

June 12 – 08:00 am till 10:00 pm

Pick up your Runner's Kit at the entrance to our EXPO zone where you can also purchase sports nutrition and gear, souvenirs or use our partner's taping service.

EXPO zone is open for everyone with various companies’ booths, cafes, recreation areas and sports entertainment for kids. 

 Before you go to pick up your bib number and Runner's Kit make sure you have the following on you:

- your personal ID

- the original of your Medical Certificate 

Please note that you are going to leave your Medical Certificate in exchange to your bib number and that we do not return your medical certificates after the race. We may accept a copy of your Medical Certificate if you will be ready to show us its original.

If you don't have a Medical Certificate or if you are not going to take the race you have registered for you still can pick up your Runner's Kit without your bib number. You'll still need to have your ID for that.

If you think that you won't be able to pick up your Runner's Kit and bib number yourself, your friend or family member can do it for you.

To do so, your delegate will have to provide:

- his or her personal ID,

- a copy of your ID,

- the original of your Medical Certificate as described above,

- an original power of attorney in the name of the proxy.

The power of attorney can be issued in any form, with no notarization required.

The power of attorney will not allow your delegate to participate in the race with your bib number.

It is prohibited to provide your bib number to any other person to run under your name. Any participant wearing other person's bib number will be disqualified.

Your Runner's Kit include:

- Your bib number with a timing chip and pins

- Tomsk Marathon T-shirt

- A bag that you can use to place your things in the storage room

- A sticker for the storage room

- Souvenirs

- Your medal, that you will be awarded after crossing the Finish line

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE CANNOT ISSUE BIB NUMBERS AND RUNNING KITS ON THE RACE DAY.

ON THE RACE DAY

Getting to the Start Camp

Start Camp will open June 23, 2020 at Novosobornaya Square in the city center.  Please note that streets in the city center will be closed for traffic at 6 am June 13, so please plan your trip to the Start Camp accordingly.

If you are going to stay in the city center you can walk to the Start Camp but no public transport will be available.

Changing rooms

Changing rooms for men and women will be located in the tents of the Start Camp territory (Tomskyi Lane).

You Runner's Kit includes a bag that you can use for your things and a sticker.

Place the sticker on your bag and leave it at the storage room. Use your bib number to pick up your bag after the race.

We do not recommend to leave valuables in the storage room as the organizers assume no responsibility for any valuables.

Toilets

Toilets will be located in the Start Camp territory (Tomsk Lane) and along the distance (as indicated on our course map).

Start

The race starts at 9:00

The Start is divided into 4 start zones: А, В, С, D. You zone is indicated on your bib number. Please look for corresponding letter signs in the Start area to find your start zone.

You cannot start from any other start zone rather than that shown on your bib number. Only runners wearing their bib numbers will be admitted to their respective start zones.

You timing chip is activated as you cross the Start Line.

Please be considerate to your fellow runners and follow the course marking.

Try not to cross the marks. It is not recommended to use your earphones so you are able to hear other runners, course referees and marshals.

Pacemakers

To help you keep proper pace through your marathon or half marathon to make desired time is the task of our Pacemakers — specially trained athletes running the distance at a certain pace. They are wearing distinctive T-shirts and flags with indication of a particular pace and finish time.

Four Food & Refreshment Stations and four additional Refreshment Stations will be located along the course.

Location of Food and Refreshment Stations may change.

Sprinkling devices will operate along the course.

Relay exchange points

Half marathon relay exchange point is at 9 km and 14 km points of our half marathon course. It is the same point at Gagarina Street.

Full marathon relay exchange point is at 9 km and 21.1 km points of our full marathon course at Novosobornaya Square.

Medical Aid

Medical Aid Stations are located in the Start Camp and along the course (please check the map).

Please ask for help immediately if you feel unwell or if you witness someone feeling unwell.

Finish

Time limits for the races are as follows:  5 km fun — 50 minutes, half marathon (21.1 km) — 3 hours, full marathon (42.2 km) — 6 hours.

Your personal time measured at the moment of finish line crossing is effective on condition you have cleared all checkpoints along the course.

Please do not stop and stay at the Finish Line, follow ahead through the Finish Zone.

Your Finisher Medal will be given to you in the Finish Zone. More water will be available as well.

Results

Race results are registered by MYLaps electronic timing system and referees at the Finish Line.

Your timing chip is fixed to the back surface of your bib number.

Do not fold your bib number, do not tear the chip off and do not store it close to magnets — it may damage the chip.

Your bib number should be attached to the front top side of your clothing. Do not attach it to your arms or legs.
