The “Yarche!” Tomsk International Marathon in figures

The “Yarche!” Tomsk International Marathon was founded in 2018. First marathon was a real sports festival with a large number of participants and guests. On that sunny day of June, 2,216 athletes gathered on the city’s main square. 468 marathoners ran 42.2 km, and 1,034 athletes took part in a half-marathon.
Next start in 2019 was just as bright and successful. There were 2 times more participants – 4,139 persons; 598 athletes ran the marathon. A serious fight broke out at the half-marathon distance. Not surprising, because it was the Russian Half-Marathon Cup, for which 1,679 athletes fought!
The “Yarche!” Tomsk International Marathon is still very young, but it already has its own traditions. The marathon course runs across the historic center of Tomsk and captivates all participants. It is full of history and beauty; it changes its direction annually. In an even year, athletes run counterclockwise, and in an odd year – clockwise. Thus, the honored university city – the heart of Siberia – shows its beauty to runners from a new angle.
The Tomsk Marathon is a real sightseeing tour across the ancient streets and places of incredible energy. There is a site with an old cobblestone pavement, ascents to temples and monasteries, and turns. Despite this, the course of the marathon is very thoroughly measured as all participants note. It is strictly regulated and has the official status and a certificate of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
We honor and respect marathon runners, their daily work, will and perseverance, stamina and endurance. For the sake of these human qualities and the development of the marathon movement and athletics, the "Yarche!" Tomsk International Marathon founded the “Go run” club. Those who participated 2 years in a row and overcame the three-hour barrier become members of the “Go run” club. Along with the winners, they are awarded a special medal on the central stage of the marathon and receive special privileges. This is another tradition of a young and bright marathon, and we can confidently say that every year the list of club members will include more new names and records.
